if you want to buy, sell or invest in properties, there is so much info out there online, in books, classes, on TV, etc. that it is total information overload.  There isn’t much info that I can add, so I’d rather tell you why I adore living in the Triangle, especially Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Durham.  Perhaps you’ll be enticed to explore the area and consider moving here.

The single best attribute of the Triangle and NC in general is the people.  People make the difference in a community.  I love the small town atmosphere and geographically small area.  Every time I walk into Whole Foods in Chapel Hill, I almost always run into people I know.  Same is true when going to Weaver St. Market in Carrboro.  If I go to the post office at Timberlyne, I always joke with the postal attendants.  It is easy to get to know shop and restaurant owners, wonderful employees who give you special attention.  Want to run errands super quickly?  Don’t move here.  Enjoy the slower pace.  I hate to take my mother shopping with me.  83, originally from NY, lives in CA–this place is too slow for her but I enjoy it.  My kids (20 and 25) like it though they live in Boston, a fast moving city.  My husband works all the time, so what does he know?

Sometimes I run into kids (in their 20s) working at various retail shops and restaurants who went to school with my kids.  It is a pleasure because we have a connection.  You probably aren’t that different from me and will make those connections over time yourself.  Truly one of the pleasures of living here.
