When Nordstrom’s opened its first NC store at Southpoint Mall in the Triangle, I thought, ah ha, the Triangle has made it.  Trader Joe’s just opened in Eastgate Mall in Chapel Hill–guess what?  We’re now on the map!  Trader Joe’s moves into areas where people are foodies, spend money on quality, are educated, well traveled and eclectic.  People here may wonder what effect Trader Joe’s will have on some of its competitors, namely Whole Foods, Southern Season, Weaver St. Market, but I think there is room for all of these companies to serve the community and make a healthy profit.  We get even more variety at competitive prices.  No wonder the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area is a great place to live.
